Details on the CRA website.
Some benefits individuals and businesses may qualify for, to help get through the Covid-19 pandemic.
CANADA EMERGENCY BUSINESS ACCOUNT (CEBA)
If you own a business, look into whether you can apply for CEBA. It is an interest-free loan available to small businesses and entrepreneurs to help them adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic and position their businesses for recovery.
CANADA EMERGENCY WAGE SUBSIDY (CEWS)
As a Canadian employer who has seen a drop in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of your employee wages, retroactive to March 15. This subsidy will enable you to re-hire workers, help prevent further job losses, and ease you back into normal operations.
CANADA EMERGENCY RENT SUBSIDY (CERS)
Canadian businesses, non-profit organizations, or charities who have seen a drop in revenue due to the COVID-19 pandemic may be eligible for a subsidy to cover part of their commercial rent or property expenses. This subsidy will provide payments directly to qualifying renters and property owners, without requiring the participation of landlords.
CANADA RECOVERY BENEFIT (CRB)
The Canada Recovery Benefit (CRB) gives income support to employed and self-employed individuals who are directly affected by COVID-19 and are not entitled to Employment Insurance (EI) benefits.
CANADA RECOVERY CAREGIVING BENEFIT (CRCB)
The Canada Recovery Caregiving Benefit (CRCB) gives income support to employed and self-employed individuals who are unable to work because they must care for their child under 12 years old or a family member who needs supervised care. This applies if their school, regular program or facility is closed or unavailable to them due to COVID-19, or because they are sick, self-isolating, or at risk of serious health complications due to COVID-19.
CANADA RECOVERY SICKNESS BENEFIT (CRSB)
The Canada Recovery Sickness Benefit (CRSB) gives income support to employed and self-employed individuals who are unable to work due to COVID-19. This is for people that are sick or need to self-isolate due to COVID-19, or have an underlying health condition that puts them at greater risk of getting the virus.
Hopefully, these will make life a bit easier and we will work together to get through these difficult times.
